Reach the solenoid wire longer end to the starter motor securely onto it. Put the end of the
Battery Cable onto the solenoid stud and then tighten the nut to 19 ft. lbs. (25 Nm) while stopping the starter motor from dangling from the harness. Mount the starter motor onto the transmission and when the vehicle has an automatic transmission, set the cooler tube bracket in place. For automated vehicles, screw in and tighten each bolt until it reaches 50 ft. lbs. (68 Nm) and for manual vehicles, tighten both the bolt and nut the same amount, then once you've lowered the vehicle, attach the negative battery cable. With the 5.7L engine, make sure to place the solenoid wire from the immobilizer onto the starter motor and confirm it's attached. Place the battery wire on to the solenoid stud and tighten the nut on it as required by the torque specs, again making certain that the starter doesn't hang from the wiring harness. Put the starter motor onto the engine and, if using an automatic transmission, slide the cooler tube bracket into place. Install the two bolts to achieve 30 ft. lbs. (41 Nm), then connect the negative battery cable and lower your vehicle.
