For brake light switch work, start by taking off the lower column cover, then the Data Link Connector, hood release lever and park brake release lever from the knee blocker. After that, raise the knee blocker to let your foot go under the switch. Hold down on the brake pedal, turn the brake lamp switch 30° to the counterclockwise side and pull it out of its bracket. Cut the wire harness and take out the switch from the vehicle. Attach the wires from the new switch to the brake light. After that, once more press and hold the brake pedal down to turn the signal on. Fix the switch down in the bracket so that the locking collar is seen at the front and twist the switch clockwise about 30° to lock it. Take off the brake and pull up on the release lever to activate the switch plunger, then get rid of the shim. The adjustment of the switch must be done during installation; if it isn't properly set, a brand new switch will be needed. After you have finished wiring the mirrors and steering wheel, set the knee blocker into place, attach the Data Link Connector, hood release lever and park brake release lever. Lastly, install the lower column cover.
