Dodge Ram 3500 Van Washer Pump Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the windshield washer pump on Dodge Ram 3500 Van?
    A:
When servicing the windshield washer pump, remove and isolate the negative battery cable to start. After that, take out the headlamp and dash wire harness connector from the washer pump/motor. Pull out the washer supply hose from the pump/motor's barbed outlet nipple, so the washer fluid will flow into a neat container for further use. If you have a trim stick or something broad and flat, use it gently to lift the barbed inlet nipple of the washer pump up from the reservoir's rubber seal. Lift out and toss away the rubber grommet seal that is in the washer pump mounting hole in the reservoir. To install, insert a fresh rubber grommet seal into the washer pump hole and make sure it is new. Place the barbed nipple of the pump into the rubber seal in the reservoir and press the nipple in all around until it's fully set. Plug back in the washing machine hose into the pump barbed outlet and match the dash wire harness and headlamp to the motor receptacle. Put the washer fluid into the reservoir again and then attach the negative cable of the battery.
