The first thing to do is to take away the accessory belt and negative
Battery Cable before addressing the harmonic balancer and crankshaft pulley. Should the vehicle contain an additional A/C compressor, first remove the coolant module plus the related A/C belt prior to using damper puller # 9544. After installing the retaining lock on the crankshaft/ring gear, take out the center bolt and bolt washer together. As long as the hub of the belt pulley/vibration damper is tight, position puller # 8940 in a straight line and press the front of the hub directly into the belt pulley grooves. If there are grooves on the belt pulley/vibration damper, you should replace it immediately. Following that, install a front
Crankshaft Seal, then use some grease to fix the parallel key in its location so its slot fits the crankshaft's key. Place the belt pulley/vibration damper in position and secure the crankshaft center bolt and washer with an M8.8 bolt tightened to 200 Nm (148 ft. lbs.) and then 90°, alternatively, use an M10.9 bolt at 325 Nm (240 ft. lbs.) and 90° torque. Release the retaining lock on the crankshaft/ring gear, look for wear on the accessory
Drive Belt and change it if needed. After that, install the accessory drive belt and any extra A/C compressor belts. If this is possible, add the coolant module, hook the negative battery cable back up and start the car to look for any leaks, being very careful around the engine, fan, pulleys and belts.
