Dodge Sprinter 2500 Washer Reservoir Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain a Washer Reservoir on Dodge Sprinter 2500?
    A:
The first step to serving the windshield washer reservoir is to detach and isolate the battery negative cable. Take off the heat shield for the upper turbocharger and the upper air cleaner from the engine area. Release the car wire harness by snapping it out from the Washer Pump/motor unit's connector. Disconnect the vehicle wire harness from the routing clip in front of the washer reservoir, remove the washer supply hose from the barbed outlet of the pump/motor and let the washer fluid drain into a new clean container you can reuse. After that, unclip the washer supply hose from the top route on the washer reservoir. Unscrew the nut and washer joining the top of the washer reservoir to the stud nut on the right inner Fender; afterwards, pull the washer reservoir toward the middle to break its connection with the stud nut. Tilt the front of the reservoir to disconnect the rear post from its grommet in the dash panel and then lift upward to disconnect the lower mounting post in the top right front wheel house. Slide the engine into the engine compartment and push the lower post into the wheel-house grommet and the rear post into the grommet in the dash panel. Place the mounting hole on the top of the washer reservoir over the right inner fender's stud nut, fasten and tighten the nut and washer and set the torque to 6 Nm (50 in. lbs.). Attach the washer supply hose to the barbed nipple on the pump/motor outlet and hook it into the trough on the top of the reservoir. Attach the washer pump/motor unit wire harness to the motorow connector on your vehicle and fasten the other end of the harness wire into the fitting clip on the front of the reservoir. Secure the upper turbocharger heat shield and the upper air cleaner housing back in place, add the washer fluid you put aside from earlier and connect the negative cable to the battery.
  • Q: How to Remove the Washer Reservoir on Dodge Sprinter 2500?
    A:
First, take out and isolate the negative cable from the battery to remove the windshield washer reservoir. Take the fluid from the washer reservoir and put it in a clean container to use again. After that, take out the washer fluid level switch from the washer reservoir. Should your headlamp system pump be attached, disconnect it from the outboard side of the reservoir. Removed the screws attaching the reservoir to the top of the left front fender inner wheel house. Move the washer reservoir up to be able to remove the standard front and optional rear Washer Pump/motor units on the inboard side of the reservoir. Separate the standard and optional rear washer supply hoses from the guidesinside the washer reservoir and then remove the reservoir from the engine compartment.
