    Q: How to Replace an Antenna Mast on Dodge Stratus?

    First, get rid of the cap nut before you replace the power antenna mast. After setting the ignition key to Accessory, play the radio. As you pull on the mast, push both spring and drive rod out from the mast tube to detach everything. Place the drive rod into the mast tube so that its teeth face the motor on the antenna. Put the radio on silent and push the mast into the tube which sometimes won't be completely lowered at first. Attach the cap nut and make sure to twist it till it reaches a 1.5 Nm (15 in. lbs.) torque setting. When you're done, use the radio to switch the mast down and up again to make sure it really ends all the way down after recycling.

    If you want to service or repair the Antenna mast, first isolate the negative line of the battery first. After that, slide the right trunk liner away and unscrew the antenna mast from the antenna body where it was attached. Remove the screw from the mounting bracket and bring down the antenna body over the rubber grommet; after that, unplug the antenna lead from the base of the antenna. When installing, push the lead of the antenna into the bottom of the antenna housing and lift the housing through the grommet using the rubber ring. Latch the screw into place in the mounting bracket, twist it to 12 Nm (106 in. lbs.) and finally put in the antenna mast. After everything else is done, slide back the trunk liner and attach the battery negative cable.
