First, support the vehicle off the ground before you wheel off the rear tires and then disassemble the rear suspension. Disconnect the nut holding the link and bushings of the sway bar kit to the lateral link at each end. After that, remove the bolts securing the sway bar kit bushings to the back suspension crossmember and pull the retainers free. Eliminate the rear sway bar kit bushings and pull the bar out through the space in between the exhaust pipe and rear suspension crossmember. Look for damage to the retainers and bushings; if replacements are needed, open the hole in the bushing to take it off the sway bar kit. Put the sway bar kit back on the vehicle as you did for removal, but with the bushings taken out first. When looking at the sway bar kit from the side, make sure the bend is inclined upwards. Fasten the sway bar kit to each link and bushing and tighten the link nuts to 31 Nm (23 ft. lbs.). Install the sway bar kit bushing retainers loosely on the rear crossmember, then place the sway bar kit into the vehicle and center it, checking that it does not come into contact with anything else. Apply 34 Nm (25 ft. lbs.) of torque to the bolts holding the bushings to the rear crossmember. #### Once finished, drive it down while lowering the vehicle.

How to Service and Repair a Sway Bars in the Front Suspension on Dodge Stratus?

Before servicing or repairing the sway bar kit in the front suspension, first make sure the vehicle is raised and supported. While using an Allen wrench in the stud's end, take out the nuts and the link assembly from the lower control arms. Afterward, remove the four bolts holding the sway bar bushing retainers to the crossmember and to the body; then pull out the retainers and the bar. Check the sway bar bushings, retainers, and links for damage. If a link needs to be changed, replace it before fitting in the sway bar again. To get rid of the sway bar bushing, take the sway bar out of the front crossmember, bend the four retainer places backward, remove the retainer, and easily peel off the bushing from the bar. Ease the sway bar and bushing assembly as a group into the crossmember and then fit the bushing retainers and insert their bolts. Do not tighten the bolts at this point-leave them loose for now. Match the ends of the sway bar assemblies to the mounting holes in the control arms, slide on the links, and use the retaining nuts to hold them, tightening them to 77 ft. lbs. Lastly, bring the vehicle down. When dealing with these bushings, the slit should face the front; you should reattach the retainers, close the crimps, and install the sway bar on the front crossmember.
