Do not forget to remove any oxygen sensor connector when maintaining or changing exhaust components, so locking fasteners do not break them. Raise the block, clamp it, grease the nuts generously, then wait 5 minutes for the Rust Penetrant to do its job. Unclip the muffler to tailpipe exhaust clamp, clip open the tailpipe from both front and rear insulators and remove the tailpipe. When installing, put the tailpipe into the muffler and then use nuts to hold the clamp bolt in place. Then, fit the tailpipe into the insulators, put it in position and tighten the rear clamp nuts to 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs.) torque. After that, bring the vehicle down, start the engine and check for cracks around the exhaust and contact with the bodywork, adjust the alignment as required.
