Begin the battery tray service by taking out the battery and the battery temperature sensor from their places in the tray. Then, unscrew the four screws that are held in place by washers, connecting the battery tray to the reinforcement. Once that's done, lift out the battery tray from the reinforcement. Before you start, clear the battery tray and check it and then install the battery reinforcement into it. Screw the two sets of screws onto the battery tray, along with the washers and tighten them to 22.6 Nm (200 in. lbs.). Set the battery onto the tray after fastening the battery temperature sensor to the battery tray.

At this point, take off the nut that holds the rear of the battery tray and support unit to the right fender front wheelhouse inner panel stud. Next, remove the battery temperature sensor from the tray and after that, remove the battery tray and support unit from the area just right of the front engine compartment. First, check and clean the battery tray and support unit and next attach the battery temperature sensor to the battery tray. Place the battery tray and support unit in the right front area of the engine compartment, making sure nothing hoses or wire harnesses are pushed inward. Attach the back of the battery tray and support unit to the stud on the right fender front wheelhouse inner panel with a nut secured to 65 in. lbs. and then join the outboard side to the right fender side cowl reinforcement with a screw torqued to 72 in. lbs. After that, attach the front of the battery tray and support unit to the right radiator support bracket using a screw tightened to 8.1 Nm (72 in. lbs.). At last, secure the Power Distribution Center (PDC) onto the stanchions found on the outboard side of both the battery tray and the support unit and slide the battery back onto the tray.
