Service and repair of the valve begins by first taking off the engine cylinder head from the cylinder block. Populate each valve spring using the Valve Spring Compressor Tool MD-998772A, then unfasten the valve locks, remove the springs and take out the oil seals, throwing them away. Smooth the top of the valve stem with a stone or jeweler's file, mainly on the area for the lock channel. Remove each valve and set it in the rack straight after you remove it. Before installing, ensure the stems and their valve bores are very clean and put some light oil on the stems. Slide the valve in the same hole it came out of and add new oil seals to the top of each valve before sealing it into place. Put the valve spring and retainer on the cylinder head of the engine, compress the spring with the Valve Spring Compressor Tool MD-998772A, put valve locks in place and take the tool off. First, check that the valve spring is properly in place by hitting it many times from both sides with a hammer. Once done, lightly tap the valve locks' retainer on top to get them to fit correctly into the engine cylinder and install the cylinder head of the engine when you are done.
