The TPMS Sensor is one of the most crucial parts that must be on every Jeep Commander car due to its sturdiness and efficiency. This advanced TPMS Sensor will also check tire pressure and and report whenever the pressure is exceeding the safe level that could result to failure of the tires and thus causing more accidents. The Jeep Commander can therefore use both indirect TPMS referred to as iTPMS, and the direct TPMS known as dTPMS to satisfy all clients. While iTPMS is confined to a computer software-based estimation giving the tire pressures, dTPMS brings battery-operated sensors giving the tire pressure in real time improving on the driving experience. TPMS Sensor allows to control specific models of the Jeep Commander automobiles and the 2022 Jeep Meridian, enabling all drivers from different markets, to enjoy the car's options. This compatibility shows that Jeep Commander cares for safety and performance since pressure of tire greatly affects fuel consumption of automobile and its general control. Also, the TPMS Sensor comes in several mounting options and hence meets the needs and wants of the consumers. The feature of illuminating the warning lights on the dashboard in-case the tire Pressure is low adds to its importance in the automobile Market. Hence, TPMS Sensor is one more innovation based on the trusty car parts, latest technologies, and accurate consideration of customer needs, which helps Jeep to underline its commitment to safety and superior performance during every drive.

Jeep Commander TPMS Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a TPMS Sensor on Jeep Commander?
    A:
Before working on the tire pressure sensor, jack up your car and support it, then take off the tire and wheel without losing the valve stem cap's O-ring. Corrosion can be avoided only if the original nickel-plated brass core from the aluminum valve stem is reinstalled. Before using the Bead Breaker, remove the tire from the wheel carefully, ensuring it's far from the sensor. At the valve stem, place the mounting/dismounting tool with a 10° angle. Hold pressure against the metal valve stem to ensure the antenna strap is safe, then unscrew the sensor nut (3) and remove sensor (1) from wheel (2). For installation, if changing the spare tire pressure sensor, remember to replace the seal (2) and the metal washer (1) at the top of the engineered valve (6) for a well-sealed sensor. After cleaning the space around the mounting hole for the sensor, insert the sensor through the wheel and press into the rear of the valve stem so that the potted part faces the wheel. Using your hand, set the sensor nut (keep washer) (3) into the wheel and press the sensor housing (2) down to the wheel's shape, then tighten it to 7.5 Nm (66 inch lbs.). Be careful not to tighten too much, since this slight change can cause sensors to become separated from the instrument. For rotating wheel tire changers, make sure the sensor valve stem is placed about 210° away from the changer head. Otherwise, for rotating tool tire changers, make certain it does not touch the lower bead breaker area. Fill the tires with air to the pressure written on the Tire Inflation Pressure Label, then attach the manufacturer's original cap to the valve stem. Install back the wheel onto the car, raise it and then drive for some time above 20 mph (32 km/h). If you can't train a sensor, look up the needed diagnostic information. To put in a new spare tire sensor on vehicles that have a TPMS, use a scan tool to add the new sensor ID to the WCM after noting the ID from the sensor. Follow the last point in the "Miscellaneous Functions" part in the WCM menu for programming the new ID.
  • Q: How to Install a TPMS Sensor on Jeep Commander?
    A:
Before anything else, write down the spare tire pressure sensor ID, if you are changing it. Before reinstalling your existing tire pressure sensor, install a new valve cap, replug or remake the valve core and put a new seal in place. Clean all around the sensor/valve stem mounting hole on the wheel, making sure its surface looks good. While applying force at the back of the metal valve stem, put the sensor into the wheel so the 'potted' (doughy) end faces the inside of the wheel. Make sure the notch/flat on the seal seat fits against the sensor housing facing the wheel before you finish installation. After the sensor nut is firmly closed, push the sensor housing into the wheel so it's flush with the inside surface and rather than over-tightening, only add 8 Nm (71 in. lbs.) of torque. Refer to the instructions of the tire changer manufacturer while installing the tire on the wheel, so the sensor valve stem is placed properly to protect it from harm during mounting. Make sure the air pressure is at the level shown on the Tire Inflation Pressure Label and fit the factory style valve stem cap. Put the wheel and tire back on your car, lower it onto the ground and drive for about ten minutes at more than 15 mph (24 km/h) if your car is stationary for more than 20 minutes to let the system adapt to the new sensor ID. The Wireless Control Module ID for the new pressure sensor travels in your car's data, so use a diagnostic scan tool to update this information. Cop your new pressure sensor's ID number and pick "Learn Spare Tire Sensor ID" in the WCM menu under Miscellaneous Functions for programming. When a TPM-RKE Analyzer is available, you should set the new spare tire pressure sensor to the "Park" position; otherwise, rotate the spare tire using one of the road tires.
