Jeep Commander Windshield Washer Nozzle Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain a Windshield Washer Nozzle on Jeep Commander?
    A:
You should start by removing the silencer pad's push-in retainers from the internal hood reinforcement so you can access the washer nozzle hose attachments in front. Take off the front washer nozzle hose from the barbed fitting at the end, unsqueeze the latches inside the nozzle and draw out the nozzle through the opening at the top of the hood onto the top of the panel. When installing, line up the washer nozzle at the front of the hood fender with the hole through the hood panel. Let the anti-rotation tab connect to the anti-rotation notch on the hood hole. Apply firm pressure to the nozzle lid to lock the buckle into position on the hood below, then push the washer hose onto the nipple and replace the push-in retainers under the hood silencer pad. Before working on the rear washer nozzle, disconnect and separate the negative Battery Cable and after that, remove the center stop lamp from the back of the liftgate panel. To remove the rear washer nozzle, separate the wash hose from the nipple on the rear of the nozzle, depress the latch feature, push down the nozzle nipple and remove the alignment pins from the receptacle in the Chmsl lens. With the alignment pins sliding into the saddles on the receptacle, set the rear nozzle in place and then press the top of the nozzle upward until the latch is latched behind the Chmsl lens. Next, connect the supply hose from the rear washer to the barbed nipple of the nozzle and put the Chmsl back on the liftgate outer panel.
  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Windshield Washer Nozzle for Front on Jeep Commander?
    A:
Always line the front washer nozzle with its mounting hole, located on the side of the hood panel. Slide the nozzle so that the anti-rotation tab fits into the notch on the machine. Use your hand to press down and evenly hold the top of the nozzle until you feel the integral latches click into place on the bottom of the acro pole. On the bottom of the hood, connect the washer hose back to the washer nozzle's barbed attachment. The last step is installing the push-in retainers that hold the hood silencer pad to the inner hood reinforcement.
