Before installing the A/C liquid and suction line assembly, set the refrigerant oil level correctly to prevent any A/C compressor damage and replace the A/C liquid line if the A/C compressor has a problem from inside. When installing more than one component, look at the Refrigerant Oil Capacities chart to learn how much oil to add. Always put new rubber O-ring seals and metal gaskets on a refrigerant line each time you open it to prevent leaks. Unplug the old refrigerant line, insert the A/C liquid and suction line assembly inside your engine hood and lubricate the new dual-plane seals with the clean refrigerant oil before placing them on the engine fittings. Attach the assembly to the A/C
Evaporator and pull bolt 3 into place, tightening it to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.). For RHD cars, have the retainers fit the power brake booster vacuum hose. Hook nut 1 onto the right front strut tower to hold the refrigerant line bracket 2, tightening it to 4.5 Nm (40 in. lbs.). Once that is ready, return the windshield
Washer Reservoir,
Power Steering Reservoir and engine
Coolant Reservoir to their positions. Fit heat shield 3 onto the dash panel studs and use three nuts to secure it at 1 Nm (10 in. lbs.). Balance the vehicle so it sits upright, remove the tape or plug from the liquid line fitting and condenser port, oil the new rubber O-ring, put it in place with the gasket and set it on the liquid line fitting. Link pipe 1 to the
A/C Condenser 2 through the opening in the front grille and set retaining nut 3 to 5 Nm (44 in. lbs.). Position and fasten the
A/C Accumulator, drop the vehicle and link the negative
Battery Cable back into place. Do not run the car with a functioning vacuum pump or vacuum in the A/C system or it could damage the compressor. Take out the refrigerant, change the oil in the refrigerant system and top up the air conditioning system with the correct refrigerant.
