Take care to note where every air seal between the
Radiator and condenser is. Without these seals, air cannot efficiently reach both systems after the condenser is removed. Disconnect the negative cable before the battery and this is when you also retrieve the refrigerant in the refrigeration system. Take off the screws that hold the
Grille and headlamp module to the upper crossmember and pull the headlamps out from their bases. Now, remove the nuts attached to the
Hood Latch and brace and note the original location of the upper crossmember because it can slide around in its slots to either side. Unbolt the radiator from the upper crossmember and put it aside and also disconnect the headlamp mounting module's air inlet duct from the engine. You need to take off the headlamp mounting module and the front fascia to see the condenser and fittings. After removing the line fittings from the condenser, cover or plug the openings to the lines with tape or plugs. After taking off the bolts from the upper condenser and transmission cooler, lift the condenser gently out of the vehicle. For removal, undo the steps you followed in installation. Pull out the tape or plugs from the fittings of the discharge line, liquid line and the condenser and link both refrigerant line couplers to the condenser. If you change the condenser, empty the refrigerant system, add 30 milliliters (1 fluid ounce) of refrigerant oil that fits the compressor and reload the refrigerant system.
