Service the fuel gauge sender after confirming that all pressure within the fuel system is released since it always holds pressure. Take out the fuel tank by draining it. Check the number next to the indexing arrow on the module before you take it off. Place the Remover/Installer 9340 into the slots at the settings on the side of the lockring. Put a 1/2 inch drive breaker bar on tool 9340 and turn the breaker bar in the direction opposite to clockwise to get rid of the lockring. When the lockring is out, the module will slightly spring up and come free from the fuel tank, protecting the float arm from bending.
