- Q: How to Service and Repair the MAP Sensor for 3.7L/4.7L Engines on Jeep Grand Cherokee?A:Start with the Manifold Pressure/Vacuum Sensor service and repair by cleaning the mounting hole for the MAP sensor in the intake manifold. After that, carefully check the MAP sensor o-ring seal (2) for any opening or holes. Put the MAP sensor into the manifold and slide it over the pin. Set and tighten the mounting bolt (8) to a torque of 3 Nm (25 in. lbs.). Lastly, join the electrical connector with the circuit (2).
- Q: How to Remove and Install a MAP Sensor on the Throttle Body on Jeep Wrangler?A:You'll find the MAP sensor at the side of the throttle body and it is connected to it by an L-shaped rubber fitting. Take out the air cleaner intake tube from the throttle body and remove the MAP sensor's mounting bolts. While pulling the sensor away, first remove the rubber entry from the throttle body and then pull it free from the MAP sensor. To install, mount the rubber fitting onto the MAP sensor, place the sensor over the throttle body, make sure the fitting guides over the throttle body vacuum nipple and secure it using two 3 Nm (25 in. lbs.) torque bolts. After that, attach the air cleaner intake tube again.
