How to Install the New Engine Control Module (ECM) on Jeep Wrangler?

Before putting in the new PDM, reprogram it with the VIN and mileage through the scan tool, so that a DTC is not generated. First, put in the PCM and hold it in position with three mounting screws, tightening each to 4 Nm (35 in. lbs.). Check the pin connectors in the PCM as well as the four electrical connectors for damage or corrosion and make sure all the pin heights are the same; correct any faults before doing anything else. After that, join the four electrical connectors to the PCM and secure the plastic shield at the connectors' ends. After that, link the battery back up and rerun the software update on the new PCM using the same VIN and odometer placed from before.
