How to Remove the Ignition Lock Cylinder on Jeep Wrangler?

When taking out the ignition lock cylinder, first insert the key into the ignition key cylinder. If your car uses an automatic transmission, put the shifter into the PARK position. First, undo the shroud covers and afterward, remove the remote keyless entry module. Following this, remove the halo of parts surrounding the cylinder. After rotating the key to the RUN position, you will see the release pin at the bottom of the key cylinder through a top hole in the lock cylinder housing. Insert a small screwdriver or pin punch in the top of the pin and pull up with it as you turn the key cylinder out of the lock cylinder housing.

How to Remove the Ignition Lock Cylinder on Jeep Grand Cherokee?

Before you remove the ignition lock cylinder, first disconnect the negative battery cable. Attach a plastic trim removal stick to the bezel you want to remove, because it is snapped onto the dial. Hold the key in the ON position, press the tab to the right side of the switch and then gently lift out the key lock cylinder from the housing. It's important to use the original key made by the manufacturer during this process.
