The sway bar should be curved on top and connecting to the links after being placed over the steering gear. First, set the sway bar kit in place, link ends in the back and start with the top over the crossmember, curving both ends over the steering gear. Make sure the marked points on the crossmember line up with those made on the body when you install it, using a transmission jack to slowly lift the crossmember. After securing the front crossmember to the body with four bolts in place and tightened to 190 Nm (140 ft. lbs.), remove the transmission jack and take off any support for the steering gear. Screw in the two bolts attaching the steering gear to the crossmember and tighten them to 70 Nm (52 ft. lbs.). Install the cushions on the bar, guided by the slit in their sides and top them with the retainers so they stay in place. Connect the retainers to the crossmember at four points with screws and tighten them all to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.). Connect the sway bar link at each end of the sway bar kit and tighten the nuts to 58 Nm (43 ft. lbs.) with the stud of the link holder stationary. Secure the routing clamps to the crossmember, then connect the screws and tighten them to 8 Nm (71 in. lbs.). Place the rear Engine Mount and if there's one, the engine belly pan.
