The process begins with raising and supporting the vehicle, then you remove the wheel and tire assembly. After that, remove the
Brake Caliper, the rotor and the ABS wheel speed sensor. At the back of the
Steering Knuckle, take out the cotter pin, nut retainer and axle hub nut, then the hub bearing mounting bolts. Remove the hub bearing from the steering knuckle and
Axle Shaft. Initially, put the hub bearing and braking shield on the knuckle before tightening the hub bearing to the bolts with system pressure at 102 Nm (75 ft. lbs.). After that, place the hub washer and the hub nut, tighten the hub nut to 237 Nm (175 ft. lbs.), then install the nut retainer and a new cotter pin. Replace the brake rotor, caliper and wheel speed sensor, put the wheel and tire assembly back on, take out the support and bring the vehicle down on its wheels.
