How to Service a Fuel Tank and Replace Its Rubber Seal on Jeep Wrangler?

Repairing the fuel pump module always requires changing the rubber seal (gasket). Open the fuel tank, insert the fuel pump module from above and close the tank to attach the pump using the new seal. After that, place the lockring over the module and turn it until the alignment arrow and the center mark are matching, without allowing the float to touch the fuel tank. Lock the lockring with Lockring Remover/Installer 9340 (3), attach a 1/2 inch drive breaker (1) and tighten it clockwise until all notches are in place. Now, fit in the fuel tank.

Put a 1/2 inch drive breaker bar on the Lockring Remover/Installer tool 9340 and turn the breaker bar clockwise to loosen the lockring. When the lockring is abandoned, the module rises slightly so it can be carefully taken out of the tank without stressing the float arm.
