2000 Dodge Dakota ABS Control Module Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair the ABS Control Module for a Four-Wheel Antilock System on 2000 Dodge Dakota?
A: Start by removing the battery negative cable before touching any part of the Controller Antilock Brake for the Four Wheel Antilock System. Release the latches between the harness and the steering column and remove the connectors from the CAB. After that, get rid of the pump motor connector. Take out the CAB by removing the screws that connect it to the HCU. While installing, make certain the CAB's seal is accurately lined up on the HCU. Screw the mounting kit into place, tightening them to 4-4.7 Nm (36-42 inch lbs.), followed by connecting the pump motor harness. After that, join the battery cords to the CAB, fasten the connectors and reconnect the battery. If you install a different CAB, do not forget to set the rear axle type from the Differential section and tire revolutions per mile from the Tires, Wheels and Alignment section. Any programming for the CAB should be done according to the procedures in the Diagnostic Information and Procedures.
