How to Effectively Service and Repair a Wheel Cylinder on 2000 Dodge Dakota?

Begin your wheel cylinder service by taking off the wheel and tire, then the brake drum. Mount the break pedal to the frame and get the brake shoes away from the wheel cylinder push rods. After that, remove both attaching bolts from the cylinder and remove the cylinder from the support plate. Use a bead of silicone sealer along the cylinder mounting area of the support plate before installing the bolts and tighten these to 20 Nm (16 ft. lbs). Link the brake line to the cylinder, fix the brake shoe spring and then install the brake drum back into place. After that, install the wheel and tire assembly and bleed the basic part of the brake system.
