2000 Dodge Neon Brake Disc Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the Rear Brake Disc on 2000 Dodge Neon?
A: The first step in servicing or repairing the rear brake disc is to lift the car, remove the rear tire and take off the wheel. Following this, pull the brake caliper off the disc and keep it safe. Get rid of any clips keeping the brake disc on and then take the brake disc straight off the mounting studs on the wheel. Check the brake pads and parking brake shoes before you put in the new disc. Fasten the disc for the rear brakes onto the mounting studs and center it on the hub, before going on to the rear disc brake caliper. Start by putting back the wheel and make sure the wheel nuts are torqued to 135 Nm (100 ft. lbs.). Set the brake pads by lowering the vehicle, pumping the pedal and holding it in place as you begin to drive.
