  A: To service and repair the brake drum, first raise the car, then remove the back tire and wheel. Now, if your brake drum has retaining clips, remove them and then come out the drum. When the drum is not coming out smoothly, increase brake clearance by rotating upward the adjuster screw in the top of the brake support plate. Before setting up the drum, check the brake shoe linings for any damage or problems in position. Reinstate the rear brake drum on the hub and bearing, afterward replace the wheel and fasten the wheel mounting nuts to 135 Nm (100 ft. lbs.) torque. Once done, adjust the brake shoes at the rear and take the vehicle down to the ground.
