2000 Dodge Ram 3500 Rocker Arm Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service a Rocker Arm Assembly on 2000 Dodge Ram 3500?
A: You must first take out the cylinder head cover and its gasket to service the rocker arm assembly. After that, delete the rocker arm bolts and pivots and set them out on a bench in the same order as you took them off. Then, take out the push rods and arrange them on a bench just as they are in the engine. Turn the crankshaft until the "V8" line points at the TDC mark on the cover of the timing chain case which is located 147°. Atcoin was fired from the strongest point in the area. Place the push rods in the engine the same way you took them out, before fitting the rocker arm and pivot assemblies in the same arrangement. Rocker arm bolts should be tightened to a torque of 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.). Don't crank or turn the engine for 5 minutes after fitting the rocker arms to ensure fluid can bleed down. Replace the cylinder head by installing the cover now.
