How to Service a Cruise Control Switch on 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

First, remove and insulate the negative battery wire, as this will disable the air bag, then sit back for two minutes to allow the system's capacitor to discharge and reduce the chances of an accidental air bag deployment. Following that, uninstall the air bag module and remove the electrical connector from the switch. Unscrew the attachment point between the switch and the steering wheel for the switch and then take out the switch. To install the switch, first place it and tighten it in place using the mounting screw to a torque of 1.5 Nm (15 in. lbs.). Reconnect the switch to the electric cord and lastly replace the air bag module.
