2000 Jeep Wrangler MAP Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Remove and Install a MAP Sensor on the Throttle Body on 2000 Jeep Wrangler?
A: A L-shaped rubber fitting connects your MAP sensor to the throttle body at the side of the engine. Take off the air cleaner intake tube at the throttle body first, then get rid of the two fasteners securing the MAP sensor. As you pull the MAP sensor, remove the rubber sealing from the throttle body and from the sensor as well. To install, fit the rubber connector over the MAP sensor, rest the sensor on the throttle body, then direct the rubber over the vacuum nipple and attach it with three 3 N.m (25 in. lbs. torque bolts. The last step is to replace the air cleaner intake tube.
