2001 Jeep Wrangler MAP Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Remove and Install a MAP Sensor on the Throttle Body on 2001 Jeep Wrangler?
A: The MAP sensor is fixed to the side of the throttle body and connected with a bent rubber tube. Before getting rid of the sensor, separate the air cleaner intake tube from the throttle body and undo the two bolts holding it in place. Once you remove the sensor, slide off the rubber fitting from the throttle body as well as from the MAP sensor. For assembly, connect the rubber fitting to the MAP sensor, set the sensor on the throttle body as you direct the fitting over the throttle body vacuum nipple, fix the sensor with the mounting bolts, set each bolt at 3 Nm (25 in. lbs.) tightness before closing the air cleaner intake tube.
