  A: For windshield washer pump servicing, first separate the battery negative cable from the vehicle. Pull out the washer supply hose(s) from the barbed nipples of your pump(s) and drain the wash fluid into a clean bucket for later use. Unconnect the wire harness connector(s) from the pump(s) in the washer. Insert a trim stick or some other broad flat-bladed object carefully between the washer pump's inlet nipple and the rubber seal. Turn the tool to gently lift the barbed nipple out of the rubber, without damaging the reservoir. Take off and remove the rubber grommet that was sealing the reservoir. During installation, use the same steps in reverse, but include a new rubber grommet on the reservoir.
