2001 Jeep Wrangler Washer Pump Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Replace a Rear Washer Pump on 2001 Jeep Wrangler?
A: Before you start replacing the rear washer pump/motor, unhook and disconnect the battery's negative cable. After that, disconnect the washer supply hose at the barbed outlet on the rear wash pump/motor unit so the washer fluid can be drained into a clean container to be kept. Following that, unplug the rear body wire harness connector from the washer pump/motor connector receptacle. Using another flat-bladed object or a trim stick, carefully separate the barbed nipple from the grommet at the rear pump/motor. Remember to be gentle so you don't wreck the reservoir. Take out the rear washer pump/motor unit and throw the rubber grommet seal located in the mounting hole. To install, put a rubber seal in the rear washer pump/motor mounting hole in the reservoir and place the pump/motor inlet nipple right up against the bottom of the reservoir. Gently and equally push the inlet nipple barbed part through the rubber grommet so that the washer reservoir isn't harmed. Lock the back body wire harness connector onto the receptacle of the washer pump/motor and reattach the washer supply hose to the rounded nipple of the pump/motor. Replacing drained fluid in the washer reservoir, do the same with the negative battery cable and remove all tape.
