2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser Cruise Control Servo Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Cruise Control Servo on 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
A: First take off the lid of the air cleaner and the makeup air hose and then detach the negative battery cable to begin servicing and repairing the cruise control servo. After that, remove both nuts connecting the speed control cable to the servo and also take out the servo from its mounting bracket. Removed the electrical connectors and vacuum line and take off the engine cover. Cut off the cable at the throttle cam and throw away the two push nuts. Pull off the clip that holds the cable to the servo. For installing, place the hairpin clip on the servo and cable and then thread the studs from the servo through the supply hose and the support plate. Attach the nuts to the backside of the gear set, adjusting to 7 Nm (60 in. lbs.), before connecting the speed control cable to the throttle cam. Attach the electrical connector and vacuum hose to the servo once more, before covering them up. Wind back the negative battery cable and tighten the air cleaner lid, along with the makeup air hose.
