2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser Mirror Switch Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain and Fix a Mirror Switch on 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
A: Open the hood and then remove the negative cable of the battery to work on the power mirror switch. To take out the left lower panel bezel, raise and lower its top backward, then quickly pull it off the instrument panel as you lower it to the floor. Next, open the screws at the left side of the instrument panel end cover, lift it back until it's unsnapped, then crawl out from under the left A-pillar and top Beck's panels while still leaving them in place. Take off the connector for the power mirror wiring from the switch and take out the end cover in the vehicle. On a workbench, hold the tabs of the mirror switch and carefully insert the switch into the front of the cover, where it will dislodge. First, fit the mirror switch into the door's opening and snap it in, then secure the power switch for the mirror to its connector. With the left end cover, make sure it's underneath the top cover and A-pillar trim and snap it into place. Fix the two screws for the left instrument panel end cover and place the left lower instrument panel bezel, checking the hinge is facing the right way, before you snap it into position. Turn the bezel up and snap it into place, reconnect the battery's negative cable, shut the hood and check that all systems are operating.
