2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser Dimmer Switch Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Dimmer Switch on 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
    A: Service or repair the combination switch by first opening the hood and taking out the negative cable from the battery. Take out both the top and bottom shrouds on the steering column. After that, remove the posi-lock harness connectors from the rear of the multi-function switch, remove the screws that secure it and take the switch out of the car. During multi-function switch replacement, add the combination flasher and the wiper/washer switch from the old unit to the new one, fasten the wiper/washer switch with the two torx screws and install the unit. Put the new switch into its location and attach it with the screws, tightening them to 3 Nm (27 in. lbs.). Attach the posi-lock harness again to the rear of the multi-function switch, put back both the upper and lower steering column shrouds and reconnect the negative battery cable. Shut the hood and check the vehicle's function and all its systems.
