2001 Dodge Durango Brake Master Cylinder Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Properly Bleed a Brake Master Cylinder Before Installation on 2001 Dodge Durango?
A: To correctly bleed a new brake master cylinder, you will need a wood dowel, some bleed tubes and it helps if these bleed tubes are made out of brake line parts. First, use a vise to install the brake master cylinder so it is secure. Now, fit the bleed tubes to the cylinder outlets so their ends can sink into the reservoir. After that, add fresh brake fluid to the reservoir and push on the cylinder pistons using a wood dowel. Having pressed the pistons, remove your grip so that they pull back to their original form by spring pressure. Keep refining until no air bubbles can be seen in the fluid.
