2001 Dodge Durango Throttle Position Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Install a Throttle Position Sensor on the Throttle Body on 2001 Dodge Durango?
A: The TPS is found hooked up to the throttle body or next to it. The first thing to do is remove the air duct at the throttle body and next, remove the TPS connector. After that, remove the two bolts holding the TPS onto the throttle body and take it away. When placing the throttle body, slide the throttle shaft end into the TPS, with a little rotation allowed; if it does not turn, flip the sensor and put the throttle shaft over the other side of the socket tabs, as they will raise up slightly. Secure the TPS, along with the two retaining bolts, so they are tightened to 7 Nm (60 In. lbs.) torque. Once installed, open and close the throttle lever to ensure the TPS isn't bound, then restore the TPS power connector and place the air duct back onto the throttle body.
