2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Engine Mount Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Rear Engine Mount on 2001 Dodge Ram 1500?
A: Begin by placing the car on a hoist and putting a transmission jack beneath it for the rear engine mount service. With the aid of the support cushion stud nuts, raise the back of both the engine and transmission a little and then remove the stud nuts. After that, pull out the bolts from the support cushion and take it out of the transmission support bracket. If you must, remove the bolts that hold the transmission support bracket to the transmission. If the transmission support bracket was removed when you first pulled out the transmission, put it back into place, insert new bolts and tighten them to 88 Nm (65 ft. lbs.) torque. After that, place the support cushion over the transmission support bracket, put on the stud nuts and tighten them to 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs. torque). After raising the car with the transmission jack, place the transmission and support cushion on the crossmember, bolt the support cushion in place and fasten them to 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.). After that, take out the transmission jack and slowly lower the car.
