How to service A/C Compressor Cut-Out Switches (low pressure sensor/switch) on 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Van?

The first step to servicing the low pressure sensor/switch is to separate and secure the battery negative cable. Release the socket connector plug from the low pressure cut-off switch located close to the filter-drier, on the suction line jumper. Open the fitting on the suction line jumper, unscrew the low pressure cut-off switch and discard the O-ring you find inside. Apply clean refrigerant oil to a new O-ring seal, install it on the suction line jumper fitting and ensure to use only O-rings and oil specific to R-134a and the make of your vehicle's compressor. Put the low pressure cut-off switch on the suction line jumper fitting and tighten it to 4 Nm (2.9 ft. lbs.). Plug the wire harness connector into the switch and then reconnect the battery negative cable.
