2001 Dodge Ram 2500 Window Regulator Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain and Fix a Rear Door Window Regulator on 2001 Dodge Ram 2500?
A: The first step to service the rear door window regulator is to take off the waterdam. Instal the handle onto the window again and move it to the right place, then take off the nuts. Then, take out the stabilizer nuts and unhook the door glass from the lift plate, so it sits all the way up. Fix the glass here with a wedge so it won't move and carefully lower the assembled regulator. Encounter the two bolts on the back of the regulator, then loosen the two in the front, slide the regulator up and out of the keyhole holes and remove it through the front of the inner panel. During installation, slide the regulator through the opening in the inner door panel, then put the regulator bolts in the keyhole notches and slide everything in place. Attach the four back regulator bolts and tighten them all to 10 N.m (89 in.lbs). Place the stabilizer, install the nuts and tighten by 10 N.m (89 in.lbs). With the window handle, move the regulator assembly into the right spot, remove the support for the glass and attach it to the regulator lift plate. Secure each glass nut with 10 N.m (89 in.lbs) and once done, unhook the window switch and fit it into the part of the door trim with the holes for buttons. Hold the window handle for a moment to fit the regulator to the proper spot.
