2002 Dodge Dakota Exhaust Pipe Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair an Exhaust Pipe Intermediate Pipe on 2002 Dodge Dakota?
A: You should raise and support the vehicle first before servicing or repairing the intermediate pipe. After treating the clamp nuts with Mopar Rust Penetrant, let it soak for five minutes before taking them off. In some cases, you need to unloosen other sections of the exhaust system to take off the extension pipe. When adding the extension, place it between the flange of the muffler and the converter of the catalytic converter. When sections other than the header were unbolted in the process, use the provided steps to tighten them back in place. Fit the clamps and tighten them using 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs.) or 28 kgfm. After that, take the vehicle down from the lift, make sure it's running and look for exhaust gases near the exhaust system and its attachments to the car.
