2001 Dodge Durango Blower Motor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain a Blower Motor on 2001 Dodge Durango?
A: First, remove the lower right kick panel and pull the carpeting carefully from beneath the front cowl and trim panel, to create space for the blower motor assembly. After that, take out the three screws holding the blower motor, air spoiler and blower wheel assembly to the heater-A/C housing. Slide the blower motor and wheel assembly out of the passenger side and lead the wire harness and its grommet and connector out the hole by the dash panel. For installation, insert the blower motor, the air spoiler and wheel assembly into the heater-AC housing and pass the blower motor wire harness connector through the grommet found in the dash panel edge of the housing. Bring the wiring for the blower motor and box into the housing from the dash panel side until the grommet clicks into place, then put both the blower motor and blower wheel inside the housing. Place the three screws to hold the blower motor, air spoiler and the wheel assembly in the housing and tighten them to secure them at 2.2 Nm (20 in. lbs.). After that, join the wires from the blower motor, place the passenger side carpet in position and attach the lower right kick panel.
