2002 Dodge Neon Fuse Box Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How is a Fuse Box Serviced and Replaced on 2002 Dodge Neon?
A: The Power Distribution Center (PDC) is treated as one unit with both its headlamp and dash wire harness which means that when either internal part or the PDC housing is broken, the whole component is replaced. At first, remove and isolate the negative lead from the battery and next, detach all the headlamps and the dash wire connectors. After that, remove the fasteners holding the ground eyelets of the headlamp and dash wire harness to the vehicle and chassis with a 10 mm screw driver and separate the retaining clips holding the harness in the vehicle. Unfasten the grommet at the dash panel and pull the electrical connectors out. After that, remove the two screws to take apart the PDC housing from the left inner fender. Take out the PDC and both headlamp and dash wire harnesses together from the engine area as your last step. Set up the grommet where the dash panel meets it, attach the PDC to the engine and center the two with their mounting pins. Place the PDC in the car's engine compartment and fasten it with the two retaining screws. Pass the headlamp and dash wire harness engine through the passenger compartment by attaching the wire harness retainers to each of the mounting points found on the vehicle body and chassis parts. Guide each of the ground eyelets from the headlamp and dash wire harnesses into their mounting slots on the vehicle body and chassis, fasten them with bolts and nuts, attach each connector and tighten the battery cable retaining nut on the PDC to 14 Nm (123 in. lbs.). Ensure that you attach the negative battery cable in the end.
