2001 Dodge Neon Fuse Box Parts and Q&A
Q: How is a Faulty Fuse Box Serviced and Replaced on 2001 Dodge Neon?
A: If anything inside the Power Distribution Center (PDC) or its housing is broken or doesn't work, you have to replace the whole unit. The first action is to detach and cut away the battery negative cable from the vehicle. Afterward, separate the headlamp and dash wire harness connectors, take out the fasteners holding the ground eyelets to the car body and chassis pieces and make sure the wire harness retainers are clear. Next, remove the grommet mounted to the dash panel and pull the connectors downwards. Undo the two screws that connect the PDC housing to the left inner fender well and then remove everything together from inside the engine compartment. For installation, first put the grommet on the dash panel, put the PDC in the engine compartment and align the PDC mounting pin with the hole in the inner fender well. Put the PDC into the engine compartment and add the two retaining screws. Lead the headlamp and dash wire harness from the PDC along the engine and passenger sides, securing them at every harness retainer to the vehicle's frames and chassis. Fasten all the eyelets in the ground and tighten their screws, reconnect the headlamp and dash wire harness connectors, hold the positive battery cable nut to 96 - 141 Nm (85 - 130 in. lbs.) and then attach the negative battery cable.
