2002 Jeep Liberty A/C Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Replace an A/C Hose in HVAC System for Suction Hose on 2002 Jeep Liberty?
A: Before replacing the A/C suction hose/line, first separate the negative battery cable and recover the refrigerant from the refrigerant line. Yank the wire harness connector away from the high-pressure switch, then disconnect the refrigerant line from the condenser inlet tube. Always place plugs or tape on the open refrigerant fittings once you've separated them. After that, extract the nut holding the suction line block to the accumulator and block off all opened refrigerant line fittings by installing plugs or wrapping them tightly in tape. Take out the fastener that connects the line manifold to the compressor and remove the assembly of suction and discharge lines from the car. Take out the tapes or plugs from the suction and discharge line manifold and the compressor, next install the manifold to the compressor and tighten the screw to 28 Nm (250 in. lbs.). Disconnect the tape or plugs on the suction line and the accumulator outlet block fittings, guide the suction line into the accumulator outlet block fitting and tighten the nut for this connector to 9 Nm (80 in. lbs.). Get rid of the tape or plugs from each fitting on the refrigerant line, then put the discharge line refrigerant line coupler on the condenser inlet tube. After connecting the a/c high pressure switch wire, attach the negative battery cable, exhale the refrigerant, pump the refrigerant into the system and finally consider if there are any leaks.
