2003 Jeep Liberty A/C Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Replace an A/C Hose in an HVAC System for Discharge Hose on 2003 Jeep Liberty?
A: First, remove the connection of the battery negative cable and then drain the refrigerant from the refrigerant system. Unplug the wire harness connector from the high pressure cut-off switch and remove the discharge line refrigerant fitting from the condenser inlet tube, then insert plugs into or cover with tape all openings on the refrigerant lines. Afterwards, unscrew the securing nut on the suction line block fitting at the accumulator outlet and cover each opened refrigerant line with plugs or tape. Remove the screw that holds the line manifold to the compressor, then take the suction and discharge lines fully out of the vehicle. When installing, first take off the tape or plugs from the manifold and compressor, join the manifold securely to the compressor and tighten the fastener to 28 Nm (250 in. lbs.). Completely remove the tape or plugs from the suction line and the accumulator outlet block hose ends and join one end of the suction line to the accumulator outlet. Tighten the mounting nut to 9 Nm (80 in. lbs.). Take off the tape or plugs at both ends of the refrigerant line and after that link the discharge line coupler to the condenser inlet tube. Attach the wire harness plug to the high pressure cut-off switch, connect the battery negative lead once more, open the line for evacuation and charge the refrigerant system.
