2002 Jeep Wrangler Brake Light Switch Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Brake Light Switch on 2002 Jeep Wrangler?
A: Before repairing or servicing the brake light switch, take off the steering column cover and the lower trim panel. First press the brake pedal firmly to the ground, then move the switch 300 degrees counterclockwise and pull it straight backward out of its bracket. Eliminate the connection between the switch harness and the switch by removing the switch. For installation, fully extend the plunger and then connect the harness connector with the switch. After putting the brake pedal down, adjust the switch tab so it's even with the notch in the bracket, push the switch into the bracket and turn it right until it clicks into place. Take your foot off the brake pedal and push it all the way to the rear to let the plunger fall into place in the switch body.
