2002 Jeep Wrangler Turn Signal Flasher Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain a Turn Signal Flasher on 2002 Jeep Wrangler?
A: Start the air bag service by disconnecting the negative battery cable and wait two minutes for the air bag capacitor to empty to avoid an accidental deployment. Expel the steering column cover from the instrument panel and come across the screws connecting the lower shroud to the upper shroud. Under the hood, place the tilt steering column at its lowest point and leave the tilt release lever open, only after that, remove the upper shroud from the steering column. Pull the combination flasher up to release the connector from the plastic back and take out the assembly. While installing, place the combination flasher terminals over the connector on the left multi-function switch, push until they are completely connected and then remove the metal clamps. Locate the upper shroud on the steering column and tighten down the screws of the lower shroud in place between the upper and lower shroud to 2 Nm (18 in. lbs.). Raise the tilt steering column to its highest point, press the release lever backward to lock it, install the steering column opening cover and then reattach the battery negative cable.
