How to Service and Repair a Crankshaft Seal on 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser?

Start by removing the crankshaft vibration damper which you do before removing the timing belt. Then, take out the crankshaft sprocket with Special Tool 6793 and push in C-4685-C2 to avoid damaging the shaft seal or its housing. Be sure to remove the crankshaft oil seal with Tool 6771 without harming the seal surface of the cover. Gently install Special Tool 6780 which holds the new seal in place, spring side inside, so it is flush with the cover. With Special Tool 6792, reinstall the crankshaft sprocket, after which put the timing belt in place and finally add the crankshaft vibration damper.
