2003 Dodge Dakota A/C Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Replace an A/C Hose for Optimal HVAC Performance for Discharge Hose on 2003 Dodge Dakota?
A: Before putting in a new A/C discharge hose/line, isolate the battery negative cable and use a recovery machine to remove the refrigerant during evacuation. Remove the wire harness connector from the a/c pressure transducer switch and open the fasteners to remove the refrigerant lines from the condenser and the accumulator. Don't forget to add plugs to the ends of all removed refrigerant lines. After that, take out the fastener from the bracket for the refrigerant line near the compressor and remove the screw that secures the refrigerant line manifold to the compressor. Be sure to cover all the opened fittings with plugs or tape before you continue. Remove the suction and discharge line assembly from the vehicle in the end. For installation, before anything else, take off all the tape or plugs from the fittings, install the refrigerant line couplers to the condenser and accumulator and tighten the fasteners between 22 and 3.38 Nm (200 and 30 in. lbs.). Insert the manifold into the compressor, screw in one mounting screw to 22 Nm (200 in. lbs.) and mount the bracket for the refrigerant line with another screw tightened to 6.77 to 1.7 Nm (60 to 15 in. lbs.). After fitting the wire harness, connect the sensor plug to the switch, fix the battery negative cable back to the battery, remove the refrigerant and add the new refrigerant.
