How to Service and Repair an ABS Control Module on 2004 Dodge Dakota?

The first thing to do when servicing or repairing the Electronic Brake Control Module is to disconnect its negative battery cable. Open the locks on the CAB harness connector and take out the harness connectors. Then, remove the connection from the pump motor, take out the screws joining the CAB to the HCU and take the CAB out. Put the CAB on the HCU, making sure the seal is in the right place. Screw the mounting screws in and set the tightness to either 4 - 4.7 Nm (36 - 42 in. lbs.). After that, link the pump motor harness, join the harnesses to the CAB and secure the connectors. Remember to plug the battery back in as the final step. When replacing the CAB, enter the type of rear axle and the number of revolutions per mile the tires do into the new CAB.
